Only problem was, I was never too keen on cooking at first. I always thought it was too tough! I was afraid to try something new..what if it got burnt! And then…

Fish Fried Rice

STEP 1:

500 gm king fish or pomfret – cut to big cubes

3 tsp red chilli pd (adjust to ur taste)

1/2 tsp turmeric pd

1 tbsp vinegar

salt as required

STEP 2:

3 cups basmati rice

3 onions – chopped fine

2 tbsp ginger/garlic paste

1 green chilli – chopped

1/2 tsp turmeric pd

3/4 tsp red chilli pd

1 tsp coriander pd

1 tsp garam masala pd

2-3 tbsp lemon juice

salt to taste

1/2 cup coriander leaves

Method:

Step 1:

Marinate fish in the masala mentioned in step 1, for atleast an hour.

Deep fry them till they turn golden brown, drain and keep them aside. Reserve oil.

Whn they cool abit, roughly break them up to 2-3 pcs each

 

Step 2:

Boil rice with salt, till done. Strain and keep aside.

Whn cool, fluff the rice gently.

In the same oil tht fish was fried, add ginger/garlic paste and green chillies and saute till light brown.

Add onions and fry till brown.

Add red chilli pd, coriander pd, turmeric pd and garam masala pd and fry well on med.heat.

Add coriander leaves and fish and stir lightly.

Add rice and gently stir and blend well. Chk for salt.

Pour lemon juice and mix some more.

Garnish with coriander leaves.

Goes well with raita and papad
